course provides individual instruction and hands-on practice in the
basic skills needed to tackle a variety of home construction and
remodeling projects. Projects covered in this class include:
• Layout of walls and rafters
• Sheet rock patching
• Proper stairway construction
• Estimating material needs for specific projects
• Replacement of windows and doors
• Recognition of bearing walls
• Siding, shingles, facia, and soffitt
• Porch decks
• Replacement of door knobs, faucets, towel bars, etc.
Safety practices and proper use of tools will be emphasized in this
30 hour course.
